CRITICAL UPGRADES FOR LEGIONELLA REMIDATION

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Intricate plumbing overhaul creates healthier and safer conditions across campus.

With health and safety at risk for the people at the Jesse Brown VA campus, Richard Group stepped up to prevent a potential outbreak of Legionella through a series of facility renovations.

If the water-based bacteria are breathed in or swallowed, a severe type of lung infection, called Legionnaires’ disease, can develop and quickly spread. To prevent Legionella from forming, our five-person team upgraded piping and removed sections with no or low water flow.

It took approximately 390 days to make corrections throughout the entire plumbing system, replacing both lines and fixtures across campus and eliminating the threat of Legionella. Our commitment to excellence was evident in successfully managing this complex critical project, ensuring safety, health, and well-being for all Jesse Brown VA patients, staff, and visitors.

Richard Group is committed to excellence, and a big part of that is keeping the facilities we work in safe and free of disease for our occupants.
