ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY (EP) AND CATHETERIZATION LABS

houston, texas

Construction for laboratory, ancillary room, control room, and a data server closet.

Our team recently completed an Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab) in Houston, Texas. The space was constructed for complex diagnostic equipment used to monitor and map the electrical systems of the heart as well as treat heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) and are a critical component in diagnostics.

In the electrophysiology laboratories, cardiologists trained in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders (electrophysiologists) use advanced 3D mapping and imaging systems. If you're in the hospital and need an electrophysiology study, you'll be taken to a special procedure room with state-of-the-art electrophysiology equipment that allows for advanced analysis and recording.

Our team renovated this space within an active hospital, upgrading the space to meet stringent standards (including lining the walls, doors, and hardware with led to protect hospital staff and patients from radiation) while maintaining perfect infection control and zero impact in the surrounding area of isolation. As part of this renovation, our team upgraded the MEP systems, including the installation of a new HVAC system.

This project reflects the mission of Richard Group to support healthcare facilities in providing the latest technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. We’re honored to be able to provide our services to these facilities.

We learned so much during the Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory renovation at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. It was a big job with much at stake for the staff and patients. Our team took that responsibility very seriously and worked tirelessly to make sure the facility never had to shut down.
