Richard Group partners with Rebuilding Together

When I founded Richard Group in 2014, one of my main drivers was to “build bigger than buildings”—to influence our wider community through our talent, equipment, and operations. We knew that partnering with the right nonprofit organizations in Chicagoland would allow us to have a direct impact by enhancing the safety and comfort features in these homes.

For us, community stewardship isn’t a corporate initiative. It’s a corporate imperative.

We have always been particularly driven to help the sick, the hungry, and the Veteran community — those who’s safety and comfort needs are often overlooked and unmet. And this is why we enthusiastically partnered with Rebuilding Together’s October Safe at Home Event in 2019.

The mission of Rebuilding Together—“repairing homes, revitalizing communities, repairing lives”—resonated with us deeply. To their credit, events are always organized so that sponsoring companies can arrive on-site and complete work efficiently, which maximizes the generosity of the time, energy, materials, and talent. They also carefully and respectfully select homes of the most deserving people and families, warmly greeting homeowners with each project, and personalizing their assistance as much as possible.

As part of the 2019 October Safe at Home Event, Richard Group provided house captains to lead the repair of 7 out of the 22 designated homes in a North Austin neighborhood of Chicago’s West Side. Senior leaders of Richard Group, in addition to our amazing craftworkers, updated each home to Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) by repairing stair rails, installing toilets, upgrading bath and laundry facilities, as well as adding carbon monoxide detectors, hanging fire extinguishers, and repainting addresses.

Every bit of it good, hard, rewarding work.

We are proud to have found a partnership that is every bit an extension of the heart and lifeblood of Richard Group, as fulfilling and necessary organizationally as it is personally and within our communities.

Our core values are drivers in our behavior and company “personality.” Selfless service will always be a cornerstone. Gratitude and accountability will always keep us in check. As a company, we are deeply thankful for the communities we serve and consider it the highest honor to serve and enhance the lives of our deserving fellow citizens.

We’re always looking for team members who share our values, our communities, and our hard work ethic. Explore our current opportunities here.
